Peter, this is, in my opinion your best writing yet, primarily due to the appealing subject matter. I read this yesterday but couldn't comment at the time because i ruined my keyboard with the drool this post engendered. What you described, that oneness of man and machine is the very reason i long for a motorcycle myself. It is also one of the reasons i have a disposition for small cars. Aside from the fact that they are as close to a motorcycle as one can get, small cars let you feel more connected to to factors that affect the driving experience, inertia, acceleration, etc. all feel so much more tangible in my Miata than in say, an suv or large sedan.
